Prepare a quote with the agreed work and pricing. When the customer accepts, use the sales workflow to prepare the invoice and check the dates, terms and tax treatment before approval. Follow outstanding invoices so a completed job does not disappear from your payment list.

Keep supplier costs and bank movements connected
Record supplier bills for tools, materials and other business purchases with their supporting details. When a bank withdrawal settles an existing bill, match it to that bill instead of recording the cost again.
Import transactions for the correct bank account and period, then review customer deposits and supplier payments against existing records. Investigate uncertain movements before allocation. This workflow uses imported transactions; automated bank feeds remain marked launching soon in the public catalogue.
Check job reporting and payroll separately
Accounting Free covers the everyday sales, purchases and reconciliation workflow. Inventory, assets and reporting have plan-specific limits. Projects, timesheets and job-costing tools require checking the selected plan; they are not all included simply because you can prepare an invoice.
A sole trader's personal drawings are not wages paid to themselves. If you employ workers, select payroll capacity for the actual employee count and pay frequency. Payroll Free has one employee and one successfully posted pay run per Australia/Sydney calendar month.
A repair job from quote to reconciliation
Example: a plumber quotes a repair, invoices the agreed work and records a supplier bill for materials. They import the business bank transactions, match the customer's deposit to the invoice and review the supplier payment against the bill. Project profitability reporting is a separate plan check, not an assumed outcome of this example.
